Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, modern and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time. It combines talking therapy and hypnosis to help the client bring about these positive changes.
With Solution Focused Hypnotherapy we look at what the client wants to achieve rather than the problem which prompted them to seek help. We focus on the present and the future not on the past and the client is asked to consider their preferred future. For example, what would be better if the problem had improved? What would have changed? This enables the client to come up with possible solutions and gives them a goal to work towards.
We use a variety of techniques as Solution Focused Hypnotherapists, which have been proven to be highly effective in bringing about positive and sustained change for the client. As the technique focuses on future outcomes we do not spend time talking over painful past memories, but rather use fun and positivity to help to create the future the client wants.
We use the safe and natural technique of hypnosis which is of course immensely powerful in helping to bring about these changes. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention, often referred to as a trance state or daydream. It is a natural state that we go in and out of many times a day such as when we are driving, running, watching a film, etc. and when we are in this state the mind will cut out everything else going on around it. It is extremely powerful as when we are in this state we can access the subconscious mind and the resources of the subconscious mind are activated to allow us to make the changes we desire.
